Jamal's Story

Jamal is a man whose life is a testament to the powerful, transformative grace of God, proving that with faith, all things are possible. A native of the South Side of Chicago, IL, Jamal's journey began with a pivotal move to Montgomery, AL, at the age of 10; a brave step taken by his mother to secure a brighter future.

However, his path was soon tested. At 18, while attending Jefferson Davis High School, a life-altering illness diagnosis brought with it the crushing weight of fear, shame, and judgment, leading him to step away from his education. But this obstacle wasn't a stop sign, it was a setup for a miracle. He refused to let a diagnosis define his destiny. He bravely pressed on, continuing his studies at Virginia College Montgomery and Tallahassee Community College, only to face yet another setback by leaving college early.

After a period of foundational work in fast food, Jamal's determination broke through, securing him a career in Property Management where he has spent the last 13 years rising through the ranks across five states: Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, and Florida.

Jamal’s narrative is one of profound victory over adversity. He is a survivor in the truest sense, having overcome homelessness, cancer, depression, grief, and molestation. This incredible strength fuels his dedication as a Consultant for Lived Experience Advisors in San Diego, CA, where he channels his personal triumphs to empower others navigating their own battles.

A devoted Man of God, Jamal’s faith trumps everything. This unwavering belief is the bedrock of his impactful service. He is an active leader in the Fraternal Community, dedicating his time and talent to empower men on both local and national levels. His journey includes significant roles such as 1st and 2nd National Vice President and served as 4th National President of Distinguished And Sophisticated Men Of Royalty, Inc., as well as serving as the 1st National Parliamentarian for Gamma Xi Fraternity, Inc. He continues this commitment as a proud member of Omega Lambda Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Within his church community, he serves faithfully in various ministries, always seeking to be a vessel of hope. Jamal is a Stage 3 Anal Cancer survivor, a powerful reminder that he is called to a purpose greater than his pain.

He is not just an overcomer; he is an Author, a fierce Human Rights Activist, and an upcoming Wardrobe Stylist. Jamal currently resides in sunny San Diego, CA, where he finds inspiration and peace exploring the majestic beaches and mountains of the Southern California Coast, a perfect reflection of his journey: high peaks after deep valleys.
